Hotel to re-open for TT
A landmark Douglas hotel will re-open for the Centenary TT, five months after going into receivership.
However, the Isle of Man Government's Department of Tourism and Leisure is warning that doesn't mean you'll be able to stay there if you had made a booking for the TT fortnight - which starts on May 26.
The Castle Mona Hotel closed its doors in December and has stayed shut since then. A German tour company has reached an agreement to open the Douglas promenade hotel during the TT festival to accommodate its clients.
A spokesman for the DTL said it has been advised the official receivers did not have access to the company records which may have provided details of future bookings.
He added:
'If you have bookings at the Castle Mona Hotel for TT 2007 you will need to seek alternative accommodation or contact Travelling Britain GMBH, Detmold, Germany, on 0049 5231 5700 676 or info@travelling-britain.com who have reached an agreement with the new owners to open the hotel for the TT period.'
'For bookings outside the TT period, the department has been advised that these will not be honoured as the hotel is likely to remain closed and you should seek alternative accommodation.'
